Terms of Service

By downloading, installing, or using the Vera application ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

Vera is an AI-powered tool that analyzes video content for indicators of AI generation, deepfake manipulation, and potential scam content. The Service provides risk assessments based on multiple AI detection models.

Important: Vera provides risk assessments, not definitive determinations. Results should be used as one factor in your decision-making, not as the sole basis for any action.

You must create an account to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract our AI models
• Use the Service to harass, defame, or invade the privacy of others
• Submit malicious content designed to exploit our systems
• Resell, redistribute, or sublicense access to the Service without authorization
• Circumvent rate limits, usage caps, or other technical restrictions
• Use automated systems to access the Service beyond normal app usage

Vera offers free and paid subscription tiers. Paid subscriptions are managed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store via RevenueCat. By subscribing:

• Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
• You can manage and cancel subscriptions through your device's app store settings
• Refunds are handled by the respective app store according to their policies
• Lifetime plans provide permanent access to Pro features with no recurring charges

Each subscription tier includes a specified number of cloud scans per billing period. On-device pre-screening does not count toward your scan limit. Unused scans do not roll over to the next period.

The family group feature allows users to share scan alerts with designated family members. By creating or joining a family group:

• You consent to sharing flagged scan results with group members
• You are responsible for obtaining consent from family members before adding them to a group
• Group creators can remove members; any member can leave a group at any time

The Service, including all AI models, algorithms, software, and content, is owned by Vera and protected by intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

• Accuracy or completeness of detection results
• Uninterrupted or error-free operation of the Service
• Fitness for a particular purpose

AI detection technology has inherent limitations. False positives and false negatives can occur. You acknowledge that no detection system is 100% accurate.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Vera shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from:

• Your use of or inability to use the Service
• Any decisions made based on scan results
• Unauthorized access to your account
• Errors or inaccuracies in detection results

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Vera and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the Service at any time, with or without notice. We may also update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Vera operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.
