Privacy Policy

Vera ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Vera mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service").

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication credentials through Firebase Auth. We do not store passwords directly.

Usage Data

We collect anonymized analytics data including scan counts, feature usage, and app performance metrics. This data cannot be linked back to individual users.

Scan Results

We store scan metadata (URLs, risk scores, signal breakdowns) to provide your scan history and enable the family protection feature. Scan results are associated with your account.

We never store your media files. Ever.

All video and audio content submitted for analysis is processed entirely in-memory. Media data is immediately discarded after analysis is complete. We do not retain, cache, or log any media content. Our servers have no persistent storage for media files.

On-device analysis (RawNetLite, MediaPipe) runs locally on your phone and never transmits media to our servers when the on-device score is below the cloud threshold.

• To enable family group features and shared alerts
• To manage your subscription and billing through RevenueCat
• To improve our AI detection models (using aggregated, anonymized data only)
• To communicate service updates and security alerts

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

• Firebase (Google) — Authentication and database services
• RevenueCat — Subscription management
• Detection APIs — Media frames are sent to our detection pipeline for analysis and immediately discarded

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

When you use the family group feature, scan results you flag are shared with members of your family group. Group members can see the flagged content's risk score, signal breakdown, and any message you include. Only you control what gets shared with your family group.

Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. Scan history is retained for 12 months. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us.

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (TLS), Firebase security rules, and access-controlled cloud infrastructure. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

The Service is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The family protection feature is designed for parents/guardians to protect family members.

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data

• Request deletion of your data
• Export your scan history
• Opt out of analytics collection

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes through the app or via email.
